Professor Mark R. Henderson

Professor Mark Henderson is with Arizona State University (ASU) where he is Professor of Engineering in the Department of Industrial Engineering. Professor Henderson is also Director of the Advanced Rapid Fabrication Consortium within the Partnership for Research in Stereo Modelling (PRISM) and Director of the Global Engineering Design Team programme.

Professor Henderson holds graduate, postgraduate and doctoral Mechanical Engineering qualifications from Purdue University where he was a research and teaching assistant prior to joining ASU in 1984. His research interests include rapid fabrication, feature based product modelling, solid modelling, geometric pattern recognition, concurrent engineering and computer aided manufacturing planning (including e-business). His supercomputing experience includes the SGI 2000 machines.

Professor Henderson's research has generated consulting activity with companies such as Raytheon, GE/Honeywell, Boeing and Right Order.

Professor Henderson's research related publications include 20 refereed journals, authorship or co-authorship of 7 books or book chapters and over 35 refereed conference publications. He is active in conference organisation, conference and journal refereeing and editing and has been a proposal reviewer for the National Science Foundation since 1985. Professor Henderson has also conducted over 30 invited presentations, seminars or short courses.

Professor Henderson is a member of the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and American Society for Engineering Education.

Professor Henderson's awards include a National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award and Professor of the Year, Corporate Leaders Programme at the College of Engineering at ASU.
